Uranus in the natal chart

In this text, I deal with the importance of Uranus in the individual horoscope, in the natal chart. The astrology I use is Jyotish, and it is sidereal astrology. So, all transits in the following illustrations are sidereal, i.e. different from Western (solar) astrology.

Uranus in the natal chart

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are usually not used at all in traditional Jyotish astrology. Even in Western astrology they are rarely interpreted in natal astrology. This is because their orbits are very long – much longer than the average human life, and staying in one sign lasts a long time, it becomes common.

However, when in the natal horoscope a person has Uranus strongly connected to one of the key foundations of the horoscope (Ascendant, Moon and Sun), then the analysis of Uranus is very useful.

Uranus tends to bring: personality development, individuality, important insights, self-knowledge, awareness, creativity, freedom… but in the case of transit through very afflicted planetary combinations, it brings deep crises of all of the above!

Let’s look at the example of Wilhelm Herschel, who discovered the planet Uranus. In his natal chart, the Moon and Venus are with Uranus. During the aforementioned Uranus transit in 1781, transiting Uranus was in the sign of Gemini, and exactly in opposition (180 degrees) with his natal positions of the Moon, Venus and Uranus. Such a transit is possible only once in 84 years.

In this way, the planets during their transits, with their angular relationships, i.e. (sacred) celestial geometry activates and reveals the hidden meanings of our destinies.

Uranus really brings strangeness, unusual experiences, either in a positive or negative sense. Let’s look at examples of altered states of consciousness and transits of Uranus, which potentiated them.

Uranus transits and mystical experiences

Jogi tranziti
Uranu and mystical experiences

In 1936, Yogananda Paramahansa had a profound mystical experience, a vision of divine energy and a conversation with a deceased teacher, during the transit of Uranus in the sign of Aries, in trines (120 degrees) with his ascendant, the Moon, the Sun and via Rahu (Moon Node).

In 1922, Jidu Krishnamurti also had a mystical experience, the awakening of the kundalini energy, during the transit of Uranus in the sign of Aquarius, through Rahu (the Node of the Moon).

Neil Donald Walsh in 1992-1993. held ” conversations with God” during the transit of Uranus at the very end of the Sagittarius sign, and practically in conjunction with his Moon at the very beginning of the sign of Capricorn. Here the moon ‘s nodes (Rahu and Ketu) are involved too.

Not all transits are as favorable and inspiring as in the previous examples. The following are some examples of dramatic and negative Uranus transits.

Uranus transits and neuroses

Neuroza tranziti
Uranus transits and neuroses

Bertha Pappenheim (Anna O.) showed the first signs of mental illness in 1880, during the transit of Uranus in the sign of Leo, through Ketu (south of the Moon ‘s node) and opposition to the Sun and Mercury.

Friedrich Nietzsche had a mental breakdown in 1889, during the transit of Uranus over Mercury and Mars, at the very end of the sign Virgo, and in conjunction with the Sun at the very beginning of Libra.

Carl Gustav Jung had mental blocks that were thought to be epilepsy. He was recovering for six months. Later, Jung himself saw that it was a neurosis. Uranus transited the sign of Virgo, activating the Moon’s nodes (Rahu and Ketu).

The following two examples are extreme:

Transits of uranus and suicide

Suicid tranziti
Transits of uranus and suicide examples

Larry Flint attempted suicide in 1987, during the transit of Uranus at the very end of Scorpio – in exact opposition to the degree of his ascendant in Gemini. Across the way is highly afflicted natal Uranus.

Alexander McQueen committed suicide in 2010, during the transit of Uranus through the sign of Pisces, in which the natal Sun and the Moon’s node , Rahu, are located. Across the way is highly afflicted natal Uranus.

Uranus belongs to the category of ” invisible planets” because it is not visible to the naked eye. The consequences of this are that the changes it brings are invisible – first of all, they are internal changes.

When Uranus transits over the Ascendant, the Sun, the Moon, or the nodes of the Moon, it brings the most important (internal) changes you can have in your life – in a positive sense it shows individuation, an increase in awareness, freedom, and in a negative sense: nervous breakdown, destructiveness… Natal planetary combinations that

The favorable or unfavorable events depends on existing planetary combinations (yogas) in the natal chart – Uranus in transit activate the combos.

Uranus in my natal chart

Here is my example. The conjunctions with Uranus can only happen once every 84 years. Uranus transits the sign of Aries (2018 – 2025), and there in my natal chart are four important celestial bodies: Sun, Jupiter, Mercury and Ketu + natal Uranus is in opposition. It’s “All inclusive” combo. 🙂

Current transit of Uranus through my horoscope

My experience so far has been very positive. I’m going to share with you some of the changes that happened during the (sidereal) transit of Uranus, literally across every planet in my ninth house of natal horoscope:

  • 2019. Transit of Uranus over the natal Sun – sudden inspiring ideas about the connection between numbers and astrology, and the beginning of research;
  • 2020. Transit of Uranus over natal Jupiter – first results, important insights, creation of several original astro-numerological methods. During the exact conjunction with Jupiter I registered as an entrepreneur;
  • 2021. Transit of Uranus through natal Ketu – online astro-numerology course started;
  • 2022-2023 Transit of Uranus over natal Mercury – changed the name of my course to Astrology of Numbers, suddenly started writing poetry, published a personal website (mladenlubura.com) for the first time in my life…

Resume

  • Uranus (Neptune and Pluto) primarily emphasizes internal changes – this is super useful for psychological astrology.
  • These changes do not have to be announced to the outside, but they usually bring concrete events to the outside world.
  • Planetary transits are an easy way to determine when a natal planetary combination (yoga) will be manifested.
  • Careful and expert assessment of the mentioned planetary combinations indicates favorable or unfavorable events.
